Why
Iberian Adventures?

We have a proven track record of quality and reliability — our many years in the business is one of the most important reasons so many people choose to travel with us. Whether it’s a walking trip on the Camino de Santiago, (it is an undisputable fact that we were one of the early pioneers in bringing groups and self-guided clients along the Caminos, starting back in 2002) or a hiking trip in the Pyrenees, you can rest assured that we’ll provide a well-organized, enjoyable and safe experience.

Over the years we have run trips for a wide range of topflight international agencies, mountain tour operators and international schools and universities. Our clients include many hundreds from USA’s iconic REI Adventures for whom we created and operated their bestselling Camino de Santiago as well as Pyrenees & Costa Brava trip until REI’s decision to stop operating internationally in early 2021. Iberian Adventures has created memorable personalized adventure travel experiences for hundreds of private clients from around the world including Australia, Canada, USA, New Zealand, UK, Japan, The Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, Switzerland, South Africa, Singapore and Philippines.

Our accommodations and meals

We seek to use accommodations of quality and “character”, in tastefully refurbished historic buildings. Comfort, cleanliness, en-suite bathrooms, rustic charm, good location and friendly staff are key criteria. Whether a simple picnic lunch or a more formal evening meal, we try to feature authentic regional cuisine and wines, with dishes made with fresh (and if possible organic) locally sourced ingredients. For more details see our FAQ’s

Our base – in Spain

We are proud to call Spain our home — our “casa”. We know it’s a big advantage for our customers. Our location, extensive network of local contacts and intimate knowledge of the country naturally enables us to create once-in-a-lifetime trips, but even more importantly it allows us to stay up to date on local conditions and events, react quickly to potential problems and maintain close contact with our hotels and inns, restaurants, guides and other providers to ensure you have a memorable holiday experience.

Spain’s varied geography, rich history and architecture, vibrant culture, music and festivals, its varied delicious cuisine — boasting the first, second and fourth of the world’s top ten restaurants — and excellent wines is what brings the country together and makes our trips very attractive.

Our excellent team

Our team comprises Spaniards and long-term residents with broad experience in adventure travel, in-depth knowledge of Spain and enthusiasm for sharing what we know. We thrive on finding beautiful trails and views, opportunities for unique cultural experiences and unusual sights, discovering the best local cuisine and most charming local accommodations. Our trip leaders are fully functional in English and Spanish (some in Basque and Catalan too), hugely experienced, highly trained and legally qualified for whatever activity they are guiding.

Our partners

A sign of our reputation for quality is that we run trips in Spain for some of the world’s top tour operators, located in UK, Japan, Australia, USA, etc. Our “risk-involved” activities such as canyoneering, rock-climbing, via ferratas, kayaking, winter-related activities and mountaineering are run in cooperation with some of Spain’s finest world-class professionals.

Our great itineraries

Offering a small but select range of itineraries allows us to control the quality of every trip. Our trips are carefully designed to provide meaningful interaction with the natural environment and opportunities to experience historical and cultural highlights of each local area. Difficulty levels are available for most ages and physical abilities. We’ve personally checked every detail: we’ve hiked every trail, visited each site, slept in all hotels, worked with every guide and eaten at each restaurant — your guarantee of a great trip, every time!

Our customers

We’ve been running outdoor adventure trips in Spain since 1999, with many hundreds of happy customers from over 20 nations, as shown by their testimonials. Many of our trip participants are repeat customers or have come to us via recommendations of former clients, a sure sign of satisfaction.
